Temporary housing a key issue as Slave Lake residents return:
"Officials estimate two-thirds of the town residents are now back in Slave Lake, many staying with friends, in college dorms or in trailers as they wait for new houses.
Some are worried that could be a long time.
Evacuee Val Love went shopping for a prefabricated house while she and her husband Bill were still in Edmonton. They were told the quickest turnaround was eight months.
“And we went to four different places,” she said, standing outside the Big Fish Bay office after booking a spot Sunday evening."
